(basic course pop / jazz / classical) Intended for the beginner guitarist, but you are also very welcome if you have followed lessons or have acquired playing experience during one or two years. In a varied way you will learn the basic guitar playing skills, at your own level and in your own time. You will learn to play simple melodies, but also various accompaniment styles for songs on the basis of cords (different types of strumming and plucking). Besides the musical notation there is the so-called alternative, very simple tablature system. Thus, you can immediately concentrate on playing the guitar, instead of on the ‘more complex’ reading of scores. Individual periods of study will be alternated with playing together. We will also use accompaniment tapes with drums and basses. Pleasure in the making of music is the central theme of this course. Therefore, you will work right from the start as much as possible with simple, appealing pop numbers.
(advanced pop / jazz / Latin American) in principle for the more experienced guitarists. Here we welcome course participants who would like to know more about the practical and theoretical background of making pop / jazz music. For beginners from the first week this second week will be a continuation that focuses on extending the skills and the repertoire. For advanced students the course consists of extending the knowledge of chords, triads, four and five-note chords and improvising by means of scales. At the end of the day, improvising will be no more than applying a few simple rules. Timing, interpretation, intonation and ensemble will be dealt with simultaneously. Besides the abovementioned subjects, plenty of individual accents will be possible. The advanced student should preferably have a guitar with steel strings or an electric guitar available. If you do not possess a guitar, you van hire one from Artedu.
lessons are every morning from 9.30h to13.00 h. Presentation on fridayevening
